Welcome to the Northern Wake National Home School Honor Society, the Xi Zeta Chapter of the Eta Sigma Alpha National Home School Honor Society. Located in northern Wake County, we are open to academically talented junior high and high school home-schoolers of all faiths. Our mission is to encourage the development of an intellectual community that will stimulate the exchange of ideas, foster scholarship, and promote community service. We are also a Certifying Organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Award.
We meet during the school year on the fourth Wednesday of the month from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at various locations around Wake Forest, NC. Activities include monthly meetings with guest speakers focused on professions and the preparation for those professions, as well as service projects and social outings.
Student members must meet certain standards set by the parent organization to join. The organization is run by student officers and assisted by adult advisors.
In addition to meeting the required academic standards, NWNHSHS members are expected to attend a minimum of 6 monthly meetings per year and provide a minimum of ten hours of community service. Community service hours are usually available through the group's service projects or through individual volunteer opportunities.
For more information, including information relating to the testing standards to join Eta Sigma Alpha, please see the Application page or contact us for more information at northernwakehonorsociety@gmail.com.
